Workforce Training

We are always accepting individuals into our trade.

Our members are educated and trained through an internationally recognized apprenticeship program that is registered through the Department of Labor.

Apprentices EARN while they LEARN.

Not only do apprentices gain much needed, hands-on training inside and outside of the classroom, they also earn a living wage from day one. This means, unlike traditional post-high school education, apprentices do not accumulate thousands of dollars in debt, rather they have the opportunity to build a solid, stable middle-class life.

All Insulation Workforce Training includes:

  • OSHA 10- and 30-Hour Safety Training Courses
  • Asbestos Removal and Mediation
  • Lead Removal and Mediation
  • Firestopping Training
  • 3E Energy Audits
  • CPR and First Aid Training Courses
  • Professional Code of Conduct Program

The members of WLEII, through the registered apprenticeship program, can also earn college credits for their training. The organization is affiliated with Owens Community College in Findlay, Ohio. The Insulators from WLEII receive course credit towards an associate degree.

Owens Community College has branch campuses in both Findlay and just outside Toledo (Perrysburg).

Training Facility

The Western Lake Erie Insulation Industry (WLEII) workforce is composed of highly trained and skilled members. These members are educated and trained through a Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee(JATC) that is internationally recognized and is a registered apprenticeship program of the Department of Labor.
